The Company Research & Technology (BR&T) organization is seeking an Associate Fluids & Spectroscopy Lab Technical Analyst to join the Fluids, Interiors, Flammability, and Oxygen Labs Team in Everett, Washington.
The diverse team of subject matter experts applies engineering knowledge of materials, processes, and physics engineering disciplines (materials science, chemistry, physics) to support the engineering, manufacture, and sustainment of Company products regarding the design, production, application, and maintenance of mechanical and structural systems.
Position responsibilities:
• Performs quality assurance (QA) testing of fluids and lubricants.
• Performs tests to qualify new tools, equipment, materials, parts, and processes to meet requirements.
• Maintains laboratory equipment including calibration certification.
• Maintains a clean, safe, and compliant laboratory environment including implementation of 5S requirements and laboratory standard operating procedures (SOP’s)
• Prepare laboratory reagents and standards used to calibrate and/or verify instrument performance.
• Supports, coordinates, and conducts complex analysis of failed parts and processes to reduce or eliminate future failures. Generates test plans, identifies, and categorizes failure, determines root cause and documents results and recommendations.
• Supports the proposal, development, and validation of revisions to procedures and specifications.
9+ months — possible extension and possible FTE opportunity.
Requirements
What you'll need
Required Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Power Point, Excel, and Word)
Preferred Skills:
• Experience operating analytical test equipment including XRF, pH meters, Automated Titrators and/or manual Titration practices, GC and or GC/MS.
• Experience documenting and clearly communicating test results to customers.
• Experience performing laboratory testing to standards (i.e. ASTM, SAE)
• Experience interacting with customers to coordinate testing requirements and schedule.
Bachelor degree in Chemistry and typically 1 or more years' related work experience
