JOB DUTIES: Provides design support for mechanical fasteners and standards. Familiarity with industrial, MIL, BCA and Mesa specifications and standards is a plus. Produces specifications and other documents to manage the deployment of materials, parts and processes. Maintains compliance with contractual and regulatory obligations. Promotes standardization across business activities. Evaluates emerging technologies for potential application to business needs. Manages test and audit programs to qualify suppliers to applicable requirements. Implements corrective and preventative actions. Work under general direction.
JOB SKILLS: Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelors and 5 or more years of experience, Masters degree with 3 or more years of experience or PhD degree with experience. Bachelor, Master and Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in mechanical, metallurgical / materials science engineering. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
This position is for a mechanical fasteners and standards engineer with theoretical and practical experience in industry, aerospace applications preferred.
6+ months — possible extension and possible FTE opportunity.
