Overview

Duties
Responsible for all aspects of accounts receivable for lower-volume, and/or lower maintenance, customer accounts.

May be assigned to medium-volume accounts based on department needs.

Applies cash and EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer) payments.

Compiles, identifies and distributes customer deduction details and paperwork to appropriate internal credit-processing department (Rebates, Chargebacks, or Claims Resolution) for research and resolution.

Tracks and follows up with appropriate internal department related to deduction credit and/or resolution.

Communicates via phone, mail, email, or fax with assigned customers to negotiate deduction paybacks, state account status, obtain needed payment and/or deduction information, and/or work through any issues affecting the account.

Clears, matches and offsets invoices and deductions where appropriate.

Prepares account statements for customers upon request.

Analyzes and presents account status (aging, open item data, etc.), when requested by management;

Retrieves and distributes printed credit memos for all accounts.

Files and copies department documents.

Identifies and communicates any issues or opportunities for improvement to department lead or manager.

May be asked to assist other team members or manager with special projects.

Demonstrated ability to perform the required tasks of the position.

Uses procedures, policy and judgment to reach solutions on routine assignments, under general supervision.

Escalates all non-routine issues that arise to lead or manager.

Receives detailed instructions on new projects that may or may not be closely supervised or reviewed.

Interfaces regularly with customers, account counterparts in other departments, and supervisors and first level managers.

Education
HS Diploma and 2 years of related experience or Associate degree or technical equivalent and no significant related experience System applications: SAP, Excel (interm.), CapNet (Return vendor's webtool), Business Warehouse, and Lotus Notes.
6+ months — possible extension and possible FTE opportunity.
