Overview


JOB DUTIES:
1) Investigates tool problems, concepts and develops tool designs per specifications which satisfy engineering and manufacturing requirements (e.g., dimensional and locational tolerances, physical attributes, mass properties, key characteristics, ergonomics, safety, cost, indexing plans, assembly sequence lessons learned).

2) Reviews the work of others for producibility, maintainability, usability, safety and feasibility.

3) Researches tool designs to create and revise tool usage instructions.

4) Participates in multi-functional product design reviews to support manufacturing/tooling plan

5) Verifies accuracy of tooling concepts and tooling definitions.

6) Checks complex designs and datasets for accuracy and compliance to standards.

7) Coordinates complete tooling package development for design release.

8) Develops drawings, models, tool usage instructions for storage in ENOVIA.

9) Research and analyzing product data (e.g., drawings, parts standards, specifications), and coordinating with cross-functional groups at tool concurrence reviews to identify solutions.

Discretion:
Requires no instruction for routine work and general instructions for new lines of work or special assignments; supervision is limited. Participates in determining details of assignments to accomplish a wide range of objectives. Plans, schedules, and arranges own activities. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.

Impact:
Errors would normally result in loss of customer business, material, or equipment to resolve.

Contact:
Interacts frequently with internal and external personnel and customers. Obtains or provides information on important or sensitive organization matters.

Typical Educ/Exper:
AA degree in related discipline and typically 3 or more years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
12+ months — possible extension and possible FTE opportunity.
