Position Description:

Company C-17 Air Vehicle Engineering is seeking Entry level Mechanical and Fluid Systems Engineer for our Long Beach, CA location. Job responsibilities include (but not limited to):
• Working closely with a lead engineer to provide the following support:
• Investigate in service failures of mechanical systems components.
• Create and/or revise engineering drawings and related command media defining system requirements.
• Assist in researching engineering solutions for identified problems.
• Reviewing and creating updates to aircraft maintenance manuals.
• Creating and releasing models of engineering parts.
• Performing engineering analyses as required to substantiate system performance.
Requirements:


Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):
1. Min years of experience 1+ yrs (incl. internships)
2. Min education required BS STEM – preferably mechanical or aerospace engineering
3. Top 3-5 skills required
a. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
b. Able to work with a team
c. Design (CAD, preferably NX), analysis (prefer NASTRAN/PATRAN), and simulation application experience

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
• Experience in Unigraphics NX CAD tool
• Experience in NASTRAN/PATRAN or similar materials strength tools
• Experience in Easy 5 or similar fluid dynamics analysis tools

Typical Education/Experience:
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
