Position Description
Shifts: 1st or 2nd
- 1st: 5:00 am -1:30 pm
- 2nd: 2:30 pm-11:00 pm
Position is on-site.
Evaluates parts, materials, processes, technology or equipment through research and testing to ensure safety, reliability and adherence to requirements and specifications. Analyzes failed parts and processes to reduce or eliminate future failures. Generates test plans, identifies and categorizes failures, determines root cause and documents results and recommendations. Proposes, develops and validates revisions to procedures and specifications. Determines suitability of parts, materials and processes. Determines suitability of parts, materials and processes and coordinates resolution of issues with suppliers and customers. Supports continuous improvement of products and processes by designing, developing, fabricating, testing, evaluating and implementing new concepts and technology. Provides knowledge and technical consultation to internal and external customers. Works under general direction.
The Puget Sound Non-Destructive Evaluation Methods and Developments lab is an Engineering Team responsible for supporting design, development, production programs, and In-Service. The team provides certification and qualification services across the value stream for NDE. The team works on commercial and defense aircraft including: 737, 747, 757, 767, 777, 787, KC-46, B1B, and P-8 as well as development programs such as SLS, CST-100, 777X, and MQ-25. The team also conducts research and development with internal stakeholders and external customers. This team spans the entire product life cycle from research and development to active airframe support and post-production test & evaluation.
This position will support field and lab film radiography. It requites a current Film Level 2 certification in accordance with NAS410 or equivalent requirements (800 hours of documented OJT and 80 hours of classroom training in X-Ray Film Testing). This will include placing film, placing and shooting tubes, and examining film as well as digitizing film.
