Position Description
**Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance. US Citizenship Required.**
Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify complex lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions. Evaluates customer/operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces. Performs various analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture. Performs analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success. Develops, maintains and identifies improvements for the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes. Resolves cross-functional technical issues.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to technical leadership and oversight in the following areas: (Level and specific role will be based on experience).
- Maintaining certification plans and technical documents in support of regulatory compliance for FAA, EASA, and 516 regulations.
- Collaborate with the regulatory authority (FAA or ENEZ) and internal engineering team to establish the certification basis for the aircraft systems and equipment as well as the means of compliance.
- Performs technical airworthiness planning and verification support including development and negotiation of airworthiness plans, basis of certifications, means of compliance, and certification activities for complex total systems
- Engaging with certification authorities to achieve mutually agreeable solutions.
- Building relationships and interfacing with other members of the program, leadership, customers and suppliers to meet team objectives.
- Review and coordination with other airworthiness engineers as well as internal engineering disciplines performed at all levels of total system.
- Development of Issue Papers and/ELOS for new and novel equipment and systems
- Participating in design and test lifecycle, providing input from the perspective of regulatory compliance.
- Developing solutions for complex issues related to certification and leading team members accordingly.
- Utilizing business tools and systems to research, analyze, and compile technical data.
- Adapting to changing requirements and performing well in dynamic conditions.
