Position Description

Primary Duties:
Set up and perform pressure, leak, flow and functional electrical testing on a wide variety of qualification and developmental products. Products include: fuel pumps, valves, regulators; hydraulic motors, manifolds, valves and flow limiters; and electrical components and electronic controllers.

Development test technician who can aid and assist test techniques; set up, tear down, clean and store test set ups. Organize test cells, oversee endurance test programs.
Mechanical, hydraulic and/or electrical test experience in aerospace, automotive, or marine industries. Fuel/hydraulic system and knowledge preferred.
Job Duties:
A. Fabricate, construct and setup testing equipment to control fluid pressure, leak and flow, and electrical testing.
B. Work from verbal instructions, drawings, sketches and engineering specifications.
C. Fabricate and install piping, valves, pumps and instrumentation and conduct tests in accordance with engineering specifications, with emphasis on safety and test integrity.
D. Monitor tests, extract test data and record data for engineering evaluation and reports. Utilize LabView data acquisition systems for test monitoring and control.
E. Confer with Engineering Department on test plans and procedures as the need arises.
F. Refer major problems or critical decisions to lead person and/or supervisor.
G. Perform maintenance, overhaul and calibration of test equipment, meters and specialized equipment.
H. Continuous improvement efforts required, particularly related to test methods, safety and efficiency.
I. Safely work with volatile (flammable) fluids and fuels being tested at high pressures and flow rates.
J. The employee may be required to work beyond normal working hours from time to time as the workload dictates.
K. Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Required skills:
A. High School diploma or equivalent.
B. The use of shop mathematics, complicated aerospace drawings, specifications and formulas in the setup and execution for test programs.
C. Familiarity with and the ability to properly use a variety of precision measuring instruments including temperature, pressure, flow and force gauges and transducers; data acquisition equipment (LabView); calipers, micrometers, scales, etc.
D. Familiarity with and the ability to properly use hydraulic power supplies (red oil and Skydrol), electrical power supplies (DC and single /multi-phase AC), electrically driven fuel pumps, environmental test chambers, etc. with training as required.
E. A general knowledge of shop mechanics and high voltage electricity.
F. Familiarity with the setup and use of vibration testing equipment for sinusoidal, random, shock and gunfire vibration testing is beneficial.
G. Ability to work collaboratively with a highly experienced team of technicians and engineers.
H. Ability to verbally communicate test related issues to management, peers and engineers, and to compile clear and organized test data in written form and in computer files.

Requirements

**Initially this position will be 1st shift, but may be transferred to 2nd shift. Work hours may vary. MUST BE FLEXIBLE***

Basic Requirements:
• 5-10 years experience.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
• This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
