Position Description:
Looking for an experienced contractor to develop a database using MS Access
Reason, Access uses form-based interfaces with reporting built-in… allowing for rapid and low cost development
Duration, approximately 3 weeks of design, and 6 weeks of implementation
It would need to be hosted on a server, and setup in a way that allows multiple users while maintaining the referential integrity of the database.
Application Developer
- Translate customer requirements into functional specification and detailed design
- Develop relationship data model to track capital assets; need to track 6500 pieces. Data exists in database format FILEMAKER PRO; translate to MS Access, includes consultant’s inventory of our capital assets (including pictures, asset tags, etc.)
- Maintenance and repairs
- Inspections
- Facility construction/remodel
- Idea is multi-user access via remote WIN tablets (field tool)
- Develop form-based interface to view, enter and update data elements
- Develop standardized reports that include forecasting, schedules and time-based alerts
- Enable user ad-hoc reporting
o Later, develop dashboard from MS Access using SharePoint 2013 BI tools
MS Access/VBA Developer
- Deliver via a multi-user MS Access application (asking them how they did it in an interface) definitely want someone with *experience in this area*
- Leverage built-in capabilities of MS Access (forms, reporting) for rapid development
- Skills – data modeling, application design, interface development, reporting, etc., looking for a generalist who can work across these areas and has experience developing small-scale MS Access applications end-to-end.

Requirements:
Technical bachelor’s degree and typically 5 or more years’ related work experience or a Master’s degree with typically 3 or more years’ or a PhD degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
