Position Description

The Company Tour Center, which is part of the Future of Flight Aviation Center and is located near the Company Everett factory, has multiple openings for visitor relations specialists (tour guides) to lead Company factory tours to the public. These openings are temporary positions which will include work on weekends and holidays. The Future of Flight is open seven days a week from visitor relations specialists conduct tours of the Company facilities to explain the manufacturing processes and related factory highlights in order to showcase The Company and its products to the visitors who come from across the country and around the world. The successful candidate must be able to memorize a tour script and to conduct minimal research in order to relate background information and be comfortable with addressing and leading large groups of people. Additionally the successful candidate must be fluent in English. Proficiency in a second language is a plus. A single tour consists of leading a group of visitors on a bus ride to the factory, walking down and up steps to a pedestrian tunnel twice, walking about a half mile total into and out of the factory and speaking and answering questions for at least 90 minutes. Visitor relations specialists Tour guides may, at times, have to project their voice, unaided by a microphone, over the factory noise. Visitor relations specialists may be assigned to conduct three or more tours per day. When needed, the individual is also required to assist the Everett Communications team with special events and the Company VIP tours with tour operations.

High school diploma or GED and typically 4 or more years' related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

The ability to provide superior customer service on behalf of The Company while transmitting a dynamic set of critical messages is paramount. Skills in problem solving and independent decision making are necessary. Some knowledge of airplane manufacturing and factory operations is required. Superior oral, written, and graphical communications skills must be demonstrated. The individual must have the proven ability to present broad technically complex information in an effective manner to diverse international audiences ranging from one person to 50 at a time. Competency in a foreign language is a plus. The Tour Center is open seven days a week. Weekend shifts will be required.
