Position Description

Leads analysis of customer and system requirements and development of architectural approaches and detailed specifications for various electronic products. Leads development of high-level and detailed designs consistent with requirements and specifications. Leads reviews of testing and analysis activity to assure compliance to requirements. Identifies, tracks and statuses technical performance measures to measure progress and ensure compliance with requirements. Leads activities in support of Supplier Management with make/buy recommendations and other technical services. Coordinates engineering support throughout the lifecycle of the product. Plans research projects to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements. Leads an engineering team and provides hands on support as needed for developing and executing procedures for testing FPGA requirements in a digital lab environment utilizing standard and custom test equipment. Leads reviews to ensure developed test procedures fully verify FPGA requirements. Strong organizational and communication skills needed to efficiently coordinate, track progress, and report performance and issues detected during testing. Able to work full-time on-site with minimal direction. Has a basic understanding and skills needed for working with standard lab test equipment (logic analyzers, oscilloscopes…). Experience with developing test scripts for generating stimulus and capturing results for unit, CCA, or device level testing required. Work statement is a non-managerial role, non-leadership role.

Requirements

Primary Skills:
• Understanding of industry standard interfaces (e.g., DDR, PCI, I2C, SPI, UART ARINC-429 and Ethernet, etc.,)
• Familiar with test equipment (e.g oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, DMMs etc.,)
• Working knowledge with LabVIEW and LabVIEWFPGA a plus
• Familiarity with DO-254 process.
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.

Skills Required
• Digital Hardware Testing (FPGA/ASIC, Digital CCA, or Digital Unit/LRU)
Leading a test engineering team

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
