Position Description

The B-52J Commercial Engine Replacement Program (CERP) is modernizing the B-52H airframe with a new underwing twin pod propulsion package featuring F130 engines provided by Rolls-Royce. Our team will be retrofitting an airframe which conducted its first flight in 1952 and entered service in 1955. The CERP program is a collaboration between BCA and BDS that will enable the USAF to efficiently operate the B-52J through 2050. The B-52J Propulsion Pneumatics team is seeking qualified candidates to join us as we complete the second phase of the program including a majority of C-NRPD final layout closures and production releases which will culminate in CDR in 4Q2024. From there the team will continue to support the program as it moves through hardware build up, component testing, engine development, program testing, and finally aircraft modification, flight testing, and final delivery.

Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain product definition for pneumatic systems such as the anti-ice, starter, and ECS bleed ducting, pre-coolers and fan air ducting, pneumatic equipment and plumbing, APU-like exhaust and compartment ducting including designs for support brackets, support link, flex joints, and valve placement.
• Develop and document requirements in a Specification Control Document (SCD) for propulsion equipment, i.e. transport elements, specialized pneumatics, etc.
• Manage requirements validation and verification in support of model-based engineering (MBE) initiatives.
• Lead technical reviews and program reviews related to the development, qualification, and military certification of propulsion equipment.
• Manage risks, issues, and opportunities as necessary to support product development timelines.
