Position Description

**Candidates must be willing to work multiple shifts. Will start assignment on Monday – Friday, 9PM – 7AM for first few weeks of training. Remaining possible shifts will be Sunday-Wednesday, 6PM - 4:30AM and Wednesday – Saturday, 6PM - 4:30AM.**

This is a Safety Sensitive Position that requires FAA/DOT pre-employment screening and random drug and alcohol testing.

-Defines requirements for materials, parts and processes used in the manufacture of products. Produces specifications and other documents to manage the deployment of materials, parts and processes. Maintains compliance with contractual and regulatory obligations. Promotes standardization across business activities. Evaluates emerging technologies for potential application to business needs. Develops and qualifies new materials, parts and processes to meet requirements. Integrates new technologies as appropriate. Manages test and audit programs to qualify suppliers to applicable requirements. Conducts analysis to determine reasons for failures of materials, parts or processes. Implements corrective and preventive actions. Designs, develops and qualifies computer and production systems to satisfy user requirements. Works under general direction.

Job requirements include, but are not limited to:
o The ability to generate specifications, test plans and other documents to manage the deployment of materials, parts and processes
o Maintain compliance with contractual and regulatory obligations and promotes standardization across business activities
o Evaluates and implements emerging technologies for potential application to business needs
o Develops and qualifies new materials, parts and processes to meet requirements
o Integrates new technologies as appropriate
o Assists and conducts test and audit programs of manufacturing and engineering processes to applicable requirements
o Conducts and leads analysis to determine reasons for failures of materials, parts and processes
o Implements corrective and preventative actions responding to non-conformance conditions and RCCAs (Root Cause and Corrective Action)
o Designs, develops and qualifies computer and production systems to satisfy user requirements

Requirements

**Position could include multiple shift assignments. Overtime may be required.**

The specific skills associated with these requirements should include:
o Thermal Protection (TP) and Thermal Protection Systems (TPS)
- Knowledge of requirements leading up to and inclusive of spray on and pour applications in addition to substrate clean, water break free (WBF), prime, verification testing, TPS application and verification testing
- Experience in manufacturing techniques and processes used to apply and verify system materials
- Preparation and verification of planning documents used to guide and clarify processes used to compile manufacturing floor procedures and presentation of such to respective boards including but not limited to the Specification Control Board
- Experience related to production scale-up, process development, verification and validation in the manufacturing environment
- Transition and implementation of material and process lab qualification data and requirements to efficient and effective manufacturing processes
- These skill requirements will be embedded in the Company M&P Production Support Team and will work side by side with Company and NASA M&P Engineers
o Contamination Control Engineering
- Experience in Contamination Control and the application in Space Flight Vehicles
- Understanding and experience with Government, Industry and Engineering Specifications
- Experience in the application of governing documents and specification in the manufacturing environment
o Aerospace Materials Engineering
- Experience of processes and materials used in space flight vehicles such as bonding adhesives, films, tapes, coatings, primers, etc used in nominal, flight and cryogenic environments.
o Metallurgy
- Experience with 2000 series aluminum alloys, Inconel, and titanium.
- Experience and understanding of corrosion in 2000 series aluminum alloys
o Fasteners and Application
- Experience related aerospace fasteners, standards and applications.

• 3-5+ years of experience is ideal for all abovementioned skillsets. Ideal candidate will have solid chemistry and manufacturing experience in their background.

Bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 3 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with experience in an engineering classification.
