Position Description

***Must be able to work Second Shift - 6:00pm to 6:30am***

Familiarity with Contamination Control Specifications and DPIs in support of maintain clean as relating to Visually Clean (VC0, VC1 and VC2) and precision clean surfaces. Understanding of cleanliness requirement related to purge gases and gases exposed to fluid clean systems. Understanding of tests and testing requirements of system or purge gases prior to introduction. Understanding of requirements and specification related to connect and disconnect of Ground Support Equipment (GSE). Familiarity with environments and enclosures required (Controlled Work Area, Controlled Area, Temporary Environmental Control Zones and Draping) when connecting and exposing critical or precision clean surfaces.
Ability to address or capability to “reach back” in a variety of disciplines as exampled by electrical, adhesives and coatings, contamination, fasteners and metallic anomalies.

Requirements

Skills and Experience Req’d:
M&P Generalist with some understanding of space propulsion systems. Understanding of spray and pour foam insulation Thermal Protective Systems (TPS) and Cork / Ablator Systems. Understanding of the specifications (STPs / DPIs/ S-201 program specific) regarding these systems/materials and application of such. Familiar with environments necessary for TPS application and the creation / monitoring of these environments for application. Familiarity with damage anomalies associated with transportation, handling and cryogenic tanking and de-tanking of the flight hardware in addition to test firing events. Comfortable with assessing TPS and Cork / Ablator anomalies and provide criteria for Use-as-Is, repair, remove and replace for MRB disposition. or provide direction to use pre-approved program-specific allowances or rework allowables.

Education / Experience:
typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
