Position Description

Shot Peen Support - As part of the surface enhancement team the candidate for this position will work under the direction of BAC spec custodian to support suppliers with surface enhancement issues, especially shot peening process specifications, which include compression peening (BAC5730), peen forming (BAC5730-1), flap peening (BAC5730-2) and other the production shot peen related issues. The surface enhancement tasks will also assist suppliers with process improvement to save cost and increase production output, assist with rejection tags or NOEs and participate in root cause analysis (RCA) as requested. Assignments will include reviewing of incoming request from suppliers, assisting developing materials for shot peen workshop, update of in-house training document and review of internal and external standards, perform tasks that assigned by the Spec custodian which can involve suppliers and/or other organizations: Supplier Quality, Field operation, Manufacturing, Production Engineering, Supplier management, and BR&T.

On a weekly basis or as required perform assessments and document the work for BR&T weekly or quarterly report. Participate in a weekly meeting to share and exchange information with Puget Sound Surface Enhancement team.

- This position requires strong communication skills (both verbal and written); the ability to work with multi-functional teams, and able to work with multiple disciplines in BR&T
- Proficiency using Microsoft Outlook, reading engineering drawings, and engineering specifications is required.
