Position Description

Overview Description:
Design and develop aircraft wiring harness assembly and installation drawings using NX Electrical Routing. Properly apply and qualify 3D Models for electrical components and LRU’s in support of that effort. Harness designs will be based on aircraft system wiring diagrams created by others.

Duties:
• Create 3D Models of electrical components and LRU’s (from vendor 2D documentation) and ensure they are properly positioned in aircraft coordinates
• Create “qualified parts” by adding intelligence to components to support the NX Electrical Routing effort.
• Define harness routing paths and model harnesses in aircraft 3D Model.
• Create detailed harness assembly drawings.
• Create harness installation drawings.
• Create harness form boards to support harness build.
• Assist with creation of process requirements documentation to define future harness design and build
• Support build efforts and issues during build of first several harnesses.
• Organize work effort and effectively communicate status and / or issues with lead engineers.
• Provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems while being thorough and imaginative.
• Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS:

A two or four year degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Applied Science at an accredited college or university is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

**Unigraphics experience is required**

Experience:
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in an aircraft environment specifically working on the design and development of harness installations and harness assemblies.
• Specific experience with NX Electrical Routing Package (or similar) is required.
• Must be familiar with issues unique to aircraft electrical / avionics system integration; such as electrical bonding / grounding, EMI issues, system separation requirements, signal separation requirements, and wire harness design / installations techniques and limitations.
• Candidate should be familiar with FAA 14 CFR Part 23 or 25 requirements. Experience in a previous FAA Certification program is a plus.
