Position Description

*This is a 2nd Shift position.*

Skillfully uses machine tools, hand tools, and measuring instruments. May need to be familiar with the metric measuring system. Understands machine shop theory, metallurgy, mathematics, and can read blueprints. Requires a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience. May require personal protective equipment, including back support belt. Worker must have the ability to lift 25 pounds frequently and occasionally 50 pounds or more (essential: lift 10 lbs regularly, not above shoulder height, to the extent that limited jobs with this requirement exist). These employees will not be operating fork lifts at this time and will not be over 72 inches off of the ground.

REQUIREMENTS:

Must have high school diploma or G.E.D.

CNC certificate or One year of verifiable experience in the set-up and operation of shop related CNC production equipment.

Ability to read, understand and effectively apply information contained in all applicable documents such as operating instructions, dimensional sheets and/or blueprints, plus a working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerances (for CNC Qualified - includes basic CNC programming commands).

A satisfactory record of recent job performance, safety performance, and attendance.

Ability to stand, sit and/or walk on a hard surface as well as safely bend, stoop, reach and use ladder up to 8 hours a day, occasionally up to 12 hours per day.

Steel toed shoes required, must be available to work all shifts.
