Position Description

JOB DUTIES: Provides support for the development of the statement of work to secure cost-effective transportation services. Analyzes carrier performance data for cycle time, costs and business process review. Participates on enterprise wide and cross-functional teams defining export control programs. Interfaces with internal/external compliance organizations and responds to Customs and Border Protection inquiries for export control issues to ensure compliance with export regulations, federal regulations, Foreign Trade Regulations and the Company Compliance Offices. Certifies the shipment of dangerous goods. Investigates loss and damage claims to carriers. Designs transportation plans and solutions. Provides program managers with the development of transportation plans.


JOB SKILLS: Knowledge/experience in U.S. Domestic and International shipment processing
Knowledge/experience with AES filing with U.S. Customs Knowledge/experience in processing Licensable ITAR shipments Knowledge/experience in processing EAR shipments knowledge/experience in Dangerous Goods shipments knowledge/experience with Government shipments and bills of laiding knowledge/experience in full truck load and less-than-truck load shipments Proficient in Microsoft Office applications to include Outlook, Word, Excel Ability to learn shipping information systems, processes and procedures Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment Good oral and written communications skills Excellent understanding and application of customer service skills Knowledge of rail shipments, processes, equipment and procedures Typical Education and Experience: Bachelor's and typically 6 or more years' related work experience, a Master's degree and typically 4 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
