Description of Requirements & Competencies:
Must have working knowledge of GD&T and either Catia V5 CAD software or UG NX CAD software. Ability to create solid models and coordinate multiple project responsibilities with minimum supervision. Self-directed and self motivated. Good interpersonal skills, must work within a team environment. Working knowledge of MS Office Suite. Experience in stress analysis a plus.
Ten years experience in the design of precision mechanical components, prefer specific experience in gearing and rotating components. Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple project responsibilities with minimum supervision. Working knowledge of ANSI Y14.5, DOD Standards, MIL Specifications. Prefer design experience in mechanical, electromechanical and hydro mechanical actuation in the aerospace field. Actuator high-lift flight control design experience a plus.
Description of Job Responsibilities:
Using customer SOW, develop new product designs that meet or exceed performance and cost targets, on a compressed time schedule. Prepare solid models using either CATIA V5 or UG NX 6. Coordinate work with designers to convert models to 2-D drawings, providing guidance on tolerances and GD&T that will insure lowest cost components that meet mechanical design requirements. Develop design concept sketches for use in new business proposals. Effectively communicate with customer engineers and Company Product Engineers, Test Engineers, Program Managers, Manufacturing Engineers and production personnel.
