Assembles, disassembles and/or modifies systems by changing, removing, replacing or upgrading aerospace vehicle (AH-64D) components to correct failures or implement changes. Oversees assembly, disassembly or overhaul. Configures aerospace vehicles and bench test equipment. Troubleshoots complex pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and repair faulty components. Performs validation/verification testing of systems and components. Documents procedures and established processes to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance (e.g., repairs, test results, applicable modifications and inspection results). Inspects components and verifies repairs for flight worthiness requirements. Oversees training. Works under general direction. Operates all ground support equipment required to supply or service aircraft electrically, hydraulically, pneumatically, and with fuel; verifies aircraft preparedness and availability of ground support equipment. Often works at off site customer locations world-wide with limited supervision and/or direction. Researches all available resources to complete job tasks, such as the Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM), planning, drawings, processes, standards, technical manuals, schematics, discrepancy reports, alerts, and directives. JOB SKILLS: This job requires 3 to 5 years experience as an Apache mechanic. Prefer an Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license. Must have flight line experience and exceptional computer skills. Must be willing to work 2nd shift. Prefer sheet metal repair and/or electrical experience.
12+ months — possible extension and possible FTE opportunity.
