Structures & Payload Design Engineer or Technician supporting Company Philadelphia NTISR Programs. The statement of work is to complete the design of the two support vehicles for EMARSS which includes integrating structural provisions and mission equipment (antennas and other) into the vehicles & developing structural designs & modifications for aircraft exterior & interior (cabin and cockpit) components. Follow-on statement of work on other PHL rotorcraft or commercial projects is possible, but not guaranteed. Activities include developing engineering product definition, meeting engineering & manufacturing requirements for deliverables such as mechanical/structural metallic & composite components, assemblies & installations. Work with legacy 2D engineering definition/layouts & create 3D product datasets in CATIA V5 for component, assembly & installations from concept through release in TeamCenter Engineering (TCE) PDM. Develop mechanical/structural product definition, apply knowledge of mechanical & structural design techniques including: 2D drawings, 3D solid modeling, model-based definition, geometric dimensioning & tolerancing; company, industry, & national drawing & design standards; mathematics, configuration control, design check & release methods; manufacturing processes & procedures. Ability to define activities in the development of aerospace products, analyze & resolve problems, improve products & producibility & apply spatial visualization skills.
REQUIRED:
Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 5 or more years' experience, Master's degree with 3 or more years' experience or PhD degree with experience. Must have an excellent working knowledge and extensive experience in both CATIA V5 and Teamcenter (TCE) PDM system as well as standard visualization tools.
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
