Position Description

The successful candidates for these positions will provide hands-on preventive and corrective maintenance on electronics (cameras, laptops, software, generators, battery system, etc. that runs the systems used for surveillance) for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Mobile Surveillance System (MSS) vehicles that operate in the southwestern region of the United States. These positions are headquartered at the SBInet Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Primary Support Facility (PSF) located in Tucson, Arizona, but the successful candidates will be required to support MSS maintenance primarily in San Diego, but also required to support other areas such as El Paso, Yuma, and other US locations, as required by program needs. Individuals selected will Coordinate repair schedules, deliveries, etc., with the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) local customers. Perform all logistical duties related to operating from a remote site, such as inventory, issue and receipt of spare parts and consumables, and packaging, handling, shipping and transportation duties. Work closely with and takes direction from Company supervisory and management personnel. This position requires driving as part of the job duties and heavy lifting over 50 lbs., general climbing, and standing for long periods of time. Individuals must currently possess a security clearance and be able to pass a background investigation for award of Final Suitability status from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Programs Security Division.
JOB SKILLS: Requires intermediate level electronic troubleshooting skills and the ability to read/trace schematics, wiring diagrams and red-line drawings. Requires hands-on experience in component removal, replacement and checkout, and the ability to use various electronics test equipment such as oscilloscope/multi-meter to perform system diagnostics. Computer operating skills, to include experience with common business applications in the Windows Operating Environment a must.
TRAVEL DESCRIPTION: Travel required to remote locations primarily in San Diego, but also required to support other areas such as El Paso, Yuma, and other US locations, as required by program needs.
