Position

Overview

Project manager supporting 787 Derivatives Airframe Structural Test group in the integration of engineering, fabrication, assembly, mechanical test and analysis and documentation activities. Engineer will be responsible for schedule, cost and change management activities for multiple test programs supporting 787 Life Cycle Product Teams (LCPT). Each engineer will manage approximately 15 test projects including, but not limited to: coordination of technical engineering and schedule requirements with 787 LCPT customers; generation of work authorization documentation/contracts between test team and performing organizations; coordination of schedule and cost planning with performing organizations (located in the Puget Sound area as well as across the globe); management of earned value analysis of performing organizations; establish and execute change management process between performing organization and customers; prepare and present periodic visibility charts detailing schedule, cost and technical metrics; integration of activities with core finance and scheduling organizations; compares actual results to baseline plan to assess project performance, efficiencies, productivity and lessons learned; identifies corrective actions to improve project or team performance; ensures team members use established processes, procedures, and best practices as appropriate; creates new processes for particular project when required, and suggests improvements to current processes for increased

JOB SKILLS: Applicant to have excellent knowledge of and aptitude in project management with superb team and communication skills. Thorough knowledge of project planning including earned value analysis, schedule and cost estimation and resource planning. Fluent in Microsoft Office suite of tools including Microsoft Project. Works under minimal direction.

Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's 10 or more years' experience or Master's with 8 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required


TRAVEL DESCRIPTION: Limited local travel to performing organization will be required. These facilities include, but are not limited to, Everett Plant, Developmental Center in Seattle and fabrication facilities in Auburn and Fredrickson, Washington
12+ months — possible extension and possible FTE opportunity.
