Maintains employee awareness for hazardous materials (dangerous goods) general familiarization, function specific and safety requirements (e.g., US Department of Transportation [DOT], International Civil Aviation Organization [ICAO], International Air Transport Association [IATA], International Maritime Dangerous Goods [IMDG]) by providing walk-through support (e.g., packaging instruction, on-site training) to meet federal and international regulations.
Evaluates, classifies and develops packaging instructions for hazardous materials (dangerous goods). Assists in planning the markings, labeling, packaging and documentation for shipments in compliance with Federal, State and International regulations. Assists in the design, test, certification and documentation of Performance Oriented Packaging (POP) with Federal, State and International regulations. Assists in ensuring hazardous materials (dangerous goods) shipments are in compliance with HM-232 (Hazardous Materials Security Plans) by assessing the shipment route, the carrier and level of national security before receiving, storing and shipping of hazardous materials (dangerous goods).
Maintains logistics systems by staying current with industry standards and/or trends (e.g., International Standards Organization [ISO], mil/standards, networking, computer aided technology, benchmarking) to support packaging customer requirements and/or initiatives. Assists others coordinating and providing support for the maintenance and
