Hermeus Achieves Historic Milestone: First Flight of Quarterhorse Mk 1 Hypersonic Demonstrator

Hermeus, a venture capital-backed aerospace company, successfully completed the first flight of its Quarterhorse Mk 1 hypersonic aircraft demonstrator at Edwards Air Force Base. The milestone represents unprecedented development speed, taking the clean-sheet design from concept to flight-ready in just over a year. The achievement demonstrates the viability of Hermeus' iterative development approach for high-speed aircraft capable of exceeding Mach 3 speeds. The test campaign validated aerodynamics, stability, control systems, and various subsystems including propulsion, fuel systems, and avionics.
