Application Architect

Leads activities to develop, document and maintain complex architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems. Develops code and integrates complex software components into fully functional software systems. Develops software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met. Provides technical leadership for software projects and leads software supplier management activities. Leads development, selection, tailoring and deployment of processes, tools and metrics. Leads software research and development projects. Serves as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations. Tracks and evaluates software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards. Trains and mentors others. Works under consultative direction.

JOB SKILLS: Proficiency in object oriented programming in C++/C# (or Java) and web application development using ASP.NET (or J2EE and JSP) in the Windows and Linux environment is required. Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment (where work scope often changes to incorporate emerging technologies) is required. Familiarity with web services and their protocols (SOAP or REST) is a preferred. General knowledge or experience in the development of requirements and tasks performed by various Engineering departments and or disciplines (e.g., design, test, software, technology, avionics) is preferred. General knowledge or experience on trade studies, design constraints, and evaluating trade space and an understanding of product lifecycle, including manufacturing, development, and modifications is preferred.
