Project Manager

Works independently to establish schedules and plans for own work assignments. May lead others and direct all phases of projects or subsystems of major projects from inception through completion. May be assigned one or more projects. Discusses with project team, project objectives and deliverables to obtain understanding and acceptance of work assignments. Obtains recommendations from project team concerning work-arounds, recovery plans, work scope changes, etc. Working independently, negotiates with project participants and stakeholders to establish project deliverable definition, task scope, task sequence and schedule commitments in order to maximize efficiency of project plan. Works with and under the direction of higher level project managers to develop overall project plan consistent with project objectives as defined by the project owner and key stakeholders. Ensures that all project control systems, within the scope of the project, are in place and integrates project data for decision makers. Consolidates independently generated project data by interfacing with functional specialist or team specialist on cross-functional teams, for an understanding of project impact items (such as: trade-offs among cost, schedule, quality, and risk). Develops work-around plans, schedules recovery plans, alternative options or scenarios, resource capacity plans, or risk mitigation plans, or re-baselines the project, as required. Identifies and tracks project risks.

JOB SKILLS: Certificate in Project Management required. BA or BS preferred. High level of written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work in fast paced rapid development environment. Works effectively and cooperatively with fellow employees, peers from other teams and/or parts of the organization and occasionally external customers; establishes and maintains good working relationships by actively involving others. Use of program management body of knowledge techniques and philosophies.
