Repair of composite structural F/A 18 flight control assemblies. Identify and document non conforming conditions based on inspection planning, blue prints, process specifications and other technical documents. A firm understanding of tooling, precision measuring equipment, materials, sequence of operations, techniques, and other factors required for composite repair. Ability to remove damaged core material and fabricate repair core material and patches within quality and time standards; performs metallic and nonmetallic bonding based on Engineering dispositions. Ensure all assemblies and detail parts are free of Foreign Object Damage (FOD) and non-conformance issues. Candidate must have the ability to obtain a clearance, but it is not a requirement to start.
JOB SKILLS: Knowledgeable and able to interpret blueprints, sketches and written and verbal instructions. - Knowledgeable and able to apply shop math. - Knowledgeable and able to use computer systems for shop applications. - Knowledgeable in core replacement. - Skilled in Hot Bond film adhesive repairs - Skilled in injection repairs of Graphite epoxy skins - Skilled in metal bond processes - Knowledgeable in composite drilling of close tolerance fastners as well as there removal and installation.
