Position

Overview

- Designs and integrates components within Landing Gear System and Doors systems to optimize design, performance, reliability and safety.
- Understands Landing Gear, Nose Wheel Steering, Nose Wheel Steering Indication and Control, Landing Gear Indication and Control, Actuation, Doors, Wheels & Brakes, Tires, and Hydraulics to design and integrate into the overall Landing Gear Systems, Doors and Aircraft Structural interfaces/integration.
- Applies company standards, procedures and processes to route and install hydraulic tubing.
- Shows a general understanding of aircraft integration and design at the enterprise level.
- Demonstrates a working knowledge of key elements of airworthiness, regulatory compliance, OEM, and industry-recognized compliance requirements.
- Follows quality standards and procedures of ISO 9001:2000/AS 9100 (Rev. B) to ensure manufacturing standards are met.
- Adheres to Lean and/or Six Sigma principles to ensure quality initiatives and standard testing procedures are met.
- Performs operations in CATIA v. 5 with minimal guidance or support. Includes 3-D modeling, 3-D creative modeling, projections, layout drawings, installations, dimensions and tolerances.
- Performs operations and procedures in MS Office Suite with minimal guidance or support. Includes EXCEL and related statistical and analytical tools, MS Project, Access, and PowerPoint.
- Performs Failure Modes Effects Analysis (FMEA) to assess risk and severity of failure on system. Includes assessing risk in design, probability testing and factor weighting.
- Applies technical principles, theories, and concepts to solve a wide range of difficult engineering problems.
- Demonstrated intermediate to advanced Catia V5 with minimum 5,000 hours and 10,000 hours plus preferred.
- Demonstrated intermediate to advanced ENOVIA, with same requirements (hours) as Catia V5.
- Demonstrated experience in LCA - Lifecycle Applications required.
Bachelors degree in engineering, a related curriculum, or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. See Other Requirements in Job Description.
