JOB DUTIES: Calculation of part and assembly weights from drawings for aircraft parts. Some drawings are in CAD, many are digital 2D and require utilizing dimensions from a drawing to calculate a volume.
JOB SKILLS: Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and calculate volumes from them. Requires an understanding of bill of materials as well as difference in materials to account for all parts of an assembly. Requires the use of a PC and spreadsheet to document results as well as enter them into a database. Some drawings are in CAD and knowledge of analysis on CATIA or similar system is beneficial, but not required. Training will be on the job with assistance from a Lead engineer.
