JOB DUTIES: Work with a dynamic organization to perform developmental and certification flight testing of all commercial models and military derivatives. Provide the technical requirements and expertise for one of the Flight Test Analysis groups (Aero Performance, Stability & Control, Mechanical & Electrical Systems, Autoflight, Structures, Propulsion, FAA Coordination, Service Ready or Avionics) in support of test planning, instrumentation planning, data acquisition, test condition evaluation, test data validation, and post-flight data production. Provide the technical leadership to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective flight testing. Both domestic and international travel will be required for periods of up to 4 weeks.
JOB SKILLS: Applicants must have previous flight test or airplane design experience, have excellent communications and personal interaction skills, and possess the ability to work closely with a diverse community including airplane manufacturing personnel, design engineering, customers and suppliers, pilots and management. A strong knowledge of airplane operational processes and some airplane systems knowledge is needed. The applicant should have the ability to quickly learn computing applications including mainframe, PC based applications and test specific computing tools. Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 5 or more years' experience, Master's degree with 3 or more years' experience or PhD degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
