Provides numerical control, machining, and programming technical expertise to cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams. Establishes technical requirements for manufacturing and producibility. Plans, creates, verifies, and revises machine control data and documentation that directs the operations for numerically controlled machines and robots required to manufacture and inspect parts, tools and assemblies. Plans and guides the development and integration of new machining techniques and manufacturing methods, processes, and software. Apply knowledge of engineering data, applied cutting tool technology, machining characteristics of metals, metallic component manufacturing processes, fixtures and machine characteristics to determine the best method of producing metallic parts and tools. Skills in programming one or more metal cutting processes: machining of extrusions, castings, forgings, plate, exotic metals (e.g. titanium, invar, inconel) and high speed machining.
Catia v4 and v5 experience is critical.
Educational minimum: Highschool diploma or GED
6+ months — possible extension and possible FTE opportunity.
