Determines approaches to and leads development of complex weight, balance and mass properties data. Leads the definition of complex weight, balance and mass properties related design requirements. Participates in developing customer specification commitments. Provides complex vehicle or system configuration guidance. Leads individual design team weight control efforts. Estimates, calculates, and verifies mass, weight, stiffness and inertias of components, assemblies and completed vehicles or systems. Develops and maintains weight, balance and mass properties accounting systems and generates weight and balance reports. Creates innovative concepts and leads the development and implementation of new processes and tools. Works under minimal direction.
JOB SKILLS: Eight or more years experience performing Weight Engineering/Mass Properties type of work. BS or MS degree in Engineering highly preferred. Individual must have excellent teaming skills and able to clearly communicate technical information to both internal and external customers.
12+ months — possible extension and possible FTE opportunity.
