Assist Installation/Manufacturing Engineering team in developing and integrating manufacturing and tooling plan requirements for the 787 wing components. Responsible for providing LCPT manufacturing engineering representation by refining the manufacturing plan, tooling plan, performing and documenting manufacturing producibility analyses, developing and improving manufacturing and LCPT processes. A thorough knowledge of composite bonding techniques and processes is required. Responsible for supporting the development and assembly of 787 wing components, develop standard processes, troubleshoot, and perform a liaison function. Capture, document and act upon lessons learned and infuse new technology into this area. Implements fabrication, assembly, or installation manufacturing plans by coordinating with suppliers, engineering, and manufacturing teams. Develops tooling, interchangeability and replacement, and functional test plans. Using the established manufacturing process flow, defines sequences of events, develops text and graphics work instructions, manufacturing datasets, tooling requirements, manufacturing bills of material. Communicates with engineering
teams to influence and clarify design concepts. Coordinates change incorporation, optimizes processes, addresses producibility issues and production and postproduction problems. Maintains configuration control of the manufacturing build plan.
Knowledge of fabrication, assembly and integration of structures and tooling concepts. Ability to determine the preferred process, assist in developing the design concept and direct the manufacture of structural assemblies.
