Position Description:

**This position require the ability to obtain a U.S Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. secret clearance Post Start is required.**

Provides the Engineering leadership to a team representing multiple skill areas, which may include internal and external resources and customers. Develops statement of work (SOW) to satisfy research and development, ongoing and new business requirements. Works with customers and management to obtain approval. Responds to changes to SOW, assesses the impact and negotiates proposed changes to determine modifications to the deliverables, resources, costs and schedules. Leads project execution to complete the work statement. Identifies performance metrics. Plans, identifies, and coordinates resources required over the life of the project or program. Defines plans for risk mitigation and opportunity. Compares actual results to baseline plan to assess project performance, efficiencies, productivity and lessons learned. Provides technical, business and integration leadership for the development and execution of project or team plans. Works under minimal direction.

Position Responsibilities May Include:
o Planning, coordination, execution of detailed engineering activities across Missile & Weapon Systems (MSW) programs, projects, and systems
o Establishing and/or facilitating recurring project meetings, technical exchanges and reviews involving internal and external organizations across multiple engineering disciplines
o Overseeing the integration of technical parameters to assure compatibility of physical, functional and program interfaces
o Supporting the assessment and collaborative resolution of complex cross-functional technical issues amongst diverse stakeholders
o Driving results through the development, implementation and maintenance of a rigorous process architecture and appropriate tools, schedules and metrics
o Supporting the discrete planning of work efforts and Agile implementation to maintain engineering execution schedules
o Managing changes to engineering statements of work (SOWs)
o Supporting proposal development and identifying activities, resources, and tasks required to complete the work statement
o Completing lessons learned analyses and championing corrective action activities
Requirements:


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
o Experience with the Missile Defense Agency’s Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) program
o Experience working across teams representing multiple skill areas with internal and external resources and customers
o Experience with complex systems development and integration
o Experience leading complex project execution
o Experience with implementation and maintenance of systems engineering tools, schedules and metrics (i.e. Earned value management, DOORS, CAMEO)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
