Position Description:

BR&T Materials and Manufacturing Technology is looking for an engineer for our Lean Production Systems team. We lead the research and development of advanced production/assembly systems and processes to improve safety, quality, performance, and/or reduce costs. In addition, we provide production and sustainment support to enterprise-wide customers from multiple functions.

Typical responsibilities include the following: develop system of systems solutions for managing Company production operations, and identifying and mitigating potential disruptions; work with revenue producing customers to identify, articulate, document, and execute innovative technology solutions; engage and integrate support from disparate Company internal resources as well as industrial and academic partners; adhere to task management and execution tracking requirements; manage performance to plan and to project budget; conduct test plan execution; develop and execute technology transition to include integration with project stakeholders from Company Commercial Airplanes (BCA), Company Defense, Space, and Security (BDS), and BR&T; work with academic partners to complement BR&T investment in order to increase solution innovation.

Current technologies under development include: production disruption forecasting, network dependency modeling, decision support solutions incorporating visual analytics, and production and procurement data collection/analysis/transformation.

The Materials and Manufacturing Technology team within BR&T is focused on discovering, developing, and transitioning innovative support and integration technologies into Company production operations and management. Our highly capable engineers excel in a team environment, executing multiple, simultaneous projects. We partner with Company business units, government customers, global suppliers, and universities to rapidly mature key technologies to production readiness.

Additional Skill Description Details: Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify complex lifecycle balanced data systems of systems and system solutions. Evaluates customer/operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces. Performs various analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture. Performs analyses for affordability, reliability, maintainability, testability, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure production operations success. Develops, maintains and identifies improvements for the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes. Resolves cross-functional technical issues.
Requirements:


Bachelor's and 9 or more years' experience, Master's with 7 or more years' experience or PhD with 4 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
