Position Description:

Your role will be to carry out flight characteristics analyses to ensure good aircraft handling qualities. In collaboration with a team of specialists the Stability & Control engineer contributes to the development of new or derivative aircraft and supports continued airworthiness of in-service aircraft. The stability and control team actively
participates in flight testing activities and closely interacts with regulatory authorities to ensure safety and compliance to airworthiness requirements.

Typical tasks consist of sizing of flight control surfaces; Preparing and executing wind tunnel and flight test plans; Analyzing and processing simulation & test data; participating in flight test planning, execution and analysis, including pre and post flight briefing/debriefing; Writing and reviewing reports which demonstrate flight characteristic compliance with airworthiness regulations; planning and conducting desk top or pilot-inthe-
loop simulations to determine consequences of design changes and failure cases on aircraft handling characteristics.

The stability and control team interacts closely with the flight simulation, fly-by-wire, systems, aircraft/engine performance groups, flight test crews and external suppliers.

The ideal candidate meets these requirements:
- You have a bachelor's degree in Aeronautical (or Mechanical) engineering as well as a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in the Aerospace industry.
- Good knowledge and some experience in wind tunnel testing, flight testing, test data analysis and the application of the FAA/EASA Part 25 certification requirements are required.
- You have good programming skills. Knowledge of Windows and UNIX operating system environments, Matrixx, Matlab, PV-WAVE, Frame Maker, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint is an asset.
- You also have good written and oral communication skills.
