Position Description:
This position reports to the Section Chief. The candidate will be responsible for:
- Development, qualification and certification of the Slats and Flaps Electronic
- Control Unit (SFECU) and other electronic components in the High Lift Workpackage in close collaboration with the System Supplier
- Ensure proper integration (A429, Analog & Discrete signals, Power interface) on
the aircraft with internal interfacing systems (Avionics (EICAS), Maintenance System & etc…)
- Ensure completeness and integrity of Hardware and software functions, logic and interfaces for the flap and slat extension/retraction system
- Review deliverables and qualification documentation from the supplier and from internal teams (Acceptance, Qualification Test Procedures, Qualification Test reports, Aircraft functional Test Procedures, supplier & production nonconformities.
- Support flight test and production teams with trouble shooting
- Support supplier with resolving problem reports from ground/flight, component & system tests (Hardware, software, simulator, test rigs, integrated system tests…) and drive fixes to be implemented on a timely and efficient manner.
- Maintain and update electrical system schematic diagrams with the drafters
- Support the system requirements management and requirements validation and verification, per SAE ARP 4754.
- Help in preparation and review of certification material (Design compliance report, SOF documents…).
- Ensure system performance, monitors Validation & Verification, Cockpit crew messages are respecting specification requirements.

Requirements:
Key Skills:
- Must have working knowledge of high lift electronic control units (SFECU).
- Must have experience in the definition and certification of Flight Control or High Lift Systems.
- Must have experience with Systems integration.
- Must have excellent knowledge of Aerospace Qualification and Certification (DO160, D0178, TCCA & FAR 25).
- Must be familiar with Transport Canada, FAA and JAA Certification processes and procedures.
- Must be familiar with flight or test rig data and analysis tools.
- Experience with Flight Testing is an asset.
- Fault isolation, trouble shooting experience is required.
Requirements:
- You possess a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering
- You have more than 10 years of relevant experience in Aircraft Systems Engineering
- Excellent knowledge of Aircraft controllers and software development including aircraft system communications (A429 & CAB digital buses, Analog & Discrete signals)
- Excellent Knowledge of Aerospace Qualification & Certification (DO160, DO178 & TCCA FAR 25)
- Familiar with Transport Canada, FAA and JAA Certification processes and procedures
- Experience in aircraft troubleshooting
- Ability to navigate thru complex system’s logic functions
- Good communication skills and a pro-active approach
