Position Description:

The candidate will be part of a dynamic and multidisciplinary engineering and technical team that are responsible for the primary support of company experimental ground test systems rigs. As part of the Ground Test Instrumentation team, your primary mandate will be to lead and take all the appropriate actions necessary to resolve the various technical issues preventing test execution.

We are looking for candidates with strong technical experience in troubleshooting as well as knowledge in aircraft systems, electrical controls and diagnostics.

In Your Role You Will:
• Lead electrical diagnostic / troubleshooting efforts and provide technical support to the engineering teams throughout commissioning, testing and maintenance phases for both industrial rig services and aircraft systems.
• Perform electrical controls and instrumentation installation work (sensors, wiring, electronic units, etc.).
• Configure data acquisition systems for parameter channel allocation, validation and prepare required instrumentation reports.
• Use Allen-Bradley PLC and HMI interfaces to troubleshoot industrial rig systems.
• Perform acceptance verification activities (sensor location & installation, wiring identification & connection to sensors, installation data documentation).
• Fabricate and install low voltage electrical wiring (less than 50Vac/Vdc)
• Communicate work status and issues to your technical lead(s).

As our ideal candidate,
• You have a College technical diploma in electrical, electronic or avionics technology, or an equivalent specialized trade education with 10 years working experience.
• You have a proven background in electrical and controls troubleshooting and support. Aircraft systems experience is an asset.
• You have experience in using industrial controls such PLCs and HMIs.
• You are capable of reading and interpreting engineering drawings (electrical and basic mechanical).
• You have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office computer software.
• You have good communication skills (written and spoken) both in French and English. A functional technical writing skill in English is an asset.
• You are able to work in a cross-functional team environment and interact, with a strong emphasis on collaborative teamwork, on a daily basis with other professional and technical functions.
• When required, you are available to work on weekends and flexible weekday hours to cover evening and night shifts for long periods.
• You have good potential for a leadership role, practical problem solving skills as well as activity and time management skills. Coordination of small team operations may be within your allocated set of responsibilities.
