Position Description:
Design Engineer II:
3-5 years Experience in role. Performs design assignments from sketches, layouts, and assemblies prepared by higher skilled technical staff. Works independently on assignments after initial instructions and guidance have been provided. Completed work results are checked for technical accuracy. -
The User Experience Design Team at Company is looking for a front-end developer with a knack for design. This person should be passionate about creating compelling, beautiful, and easy-to-use interfaces for our customers. The ideal candidate will have a blend of experience throughout the entire design process (including user research, wireframing/prototyping, design evaluation/testing), but with an emphasis on front-end development and final product delivery. Our team balances work across multiple projects at various stages in the design lifecycle, so the ability to multi-task and prioritize work is a must.
Requirements:
Hands on experience building web applications Expert knowledge of HTML5/CSS3 and JavaScript (AngularJS and ExtJS experience a plus) Passion for pixel-perfect execution of designs Comfortable writing extensible, modular CSS using a preprocessor such as SASS Fluent in user interface and interaction design principles, including mobile-first and responsive design Comfortable working with the Adobe Creative Suite (particularly Adobe Illustrator) Working knowledge of the user experience methodology, including research, prototyping, and usability testing Excellent written and oral communication skills Strong portfolio showcasing past work

Requirements:
Degree: Bachelors in design, web design, web development, software development or equivalent Experience: 3 years minimum
Additional Skills Desired:
Past experience with JavaScript Web Frameworks Knowledge of Prototyping Tools (Axure, Proto.io) Understanding of the benefits of Web Components (Polymer) Strong grasp of Front-End Build/Package Managers/Version Control (Bower, NPM, Grunt, Gulp, Git, SVN, etc.) Knowledge of Security Principles Experience with Agile development process (Scrum) Our software is used in electrical/power applications, so basic knowledge of electricity/electrical components is a plus Some experience with WordPress/PHP, as it is used in an internal application run by the team.
