Multicraft CNC Maintenance Technician

Position Description:

Shift: 2nd, 3PM - 11:30PM. - Willing to work any shift plus weekends and holidays.

The multi-craft maintenance technician will be involved in activities designed to maintain production systems and machinery at maximum levels of up-time and utilization at the lowest possible cost.

In addition, each employee may be asked, on occasion, to complete other duties and responsibilities as required by Company leadership. Training and certification will be provided for the additional work when required.

- The ability to work safely and follow strict safety practices.
- Familiar with the safe operation of cranes, conveyor equipment, machinery, motive equipment, and various light / heavy machinery.
- Diagnose failures, determine parts and material requirements, and perform repairs as required to resume operation on production equipment.
- Attend seminars, training, and educational activities as directed as well as on-the-job participation/demonstrations by peers in order to improve maintenance technical capacity.
- Train other employees in same job classification or lower as requested or required.
- Participate in Maintenance Department project implementation and on process improvement teams.
- Must be able to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Basic knowledge of electronics, pneumatics, mechanics, hydraulics, and structural maintenance.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.
- Ability to operate computers and maintenance diagnostics equipment including analog and digital multi-meters, oscilloscopes, pyrometers, photo-tachometer, ultrasonic leak detectors, etc.
- Repair or replace control devices such as switches, optical sensors, motor starters.
- Ability to work in confined areas.
- Ability to work in high places.
- Use precision alignment and measuring instruments.
- Experience with machine assembly, machine builds, installations, mechanical, general machine shop tools, electrical wiring, bearings, alignment techniques,
- Must have excellent analytical skills and a demonstrated understanding of electrical and mechanical machine controls and drive systems.
- Enter and retrieve data from the CMMS system, and order parts required to accomplish the tasks.

- The following skills are preferred:

PLC knowledge and experience.
Experience with MAXIMO & SAP.
Experience with Siemens & Fanuc CNC controls
Experience operating plant equipment to fabricate, cut, weld, and repair machine parts.

Perform root/cause analysis in support of reliability processes, and collaborate with vendors, engineering, customers, other crafts and management to solve equipment problems and develop corrective action.
- Willing to work any shift plus weekends and holidays.
- Ability to communicate effectively with company employees and all levels of management.
- Must have a strong work ethic with the ability to work independently or in a team environment.
Requirements:


Prefer local candidates
Shift: 2nd, 3PM - 11:30PM.
Overtime is based on the workload. 1-4 hours per day when necessary; Rotating weekends, both Saturday and Sunday.
4-6 month with option to direct hire as business needs warrant
CNC Maintenance with S-7 or Step 7 program language experience preferred.
Multi-axis experience 7&8
PLC’s – Allen Bradley and Fanuc
Precision machine alignment
Previous experience in Caterpillar and/or ATP transitions well
