Position

Overview

Performs Supplier Qualification Audits per internal and industry regulations. Analyzes Supplier performance metrics in order to ensure compliance to quality goals. Develops quality improvement plans for Suppliers based on analysis of available data. Provides recommendations concerning the disposition of defective materials. Serves as a technical point of contact to Suppliers and Supply Chain representatives. Reviews corrective action reports for adequacy and to maintain a continuing awareness of quality problems. Conducts investigations of considerable complexity pertaining to the manufacture of new products, the establishment of new processes or the resolution of complex product quality problems. May provide technical guidance to lower level engineers, technicians and inspectors. Performs other related duties as required.

Education &/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering; and minimum five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Continuous Improvement experience is a plus.

Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.

Mathematical Skills:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
