Engineer to provide electrical control design, software programming, integration design, and technical sustaining support for various types of airplane functional test and fabrication equipment for the assembly of wings and airplanes. Responsibilities include conceptual design development, schematic design, development of purchase specifications, component selection, detail design, technical oversight of acquisition/ fabrication, acceptance testing, startup, & configuration management of various types of equipment & systems. Coordinate with manufacturing customers, airplane system engineers, equipment vendors, & other internal departments to determine new and changing equipment requirements and analyze and resolve equipment problems. Generate preventative maintenance schedules, maintenance instructions, and provide guidance to maintenance technicians in troubleshooting equipment repairs. Supports and leads teams to perform analysis to determine the cause of asset failures and reduction in asset capacity by using reliability tools and methods (e.g., life cycle analysis, Controls hardware, software and documentation configuration of complex equipment in accordance with company procedures and legal requirements to ensure a maintainable, repeatable process. condition based maintenance, root cause failure methodology, mean time between failures, fault tree analysis, etc.). Off hour support will be required at times to assist with correcting equipment failures. Mentors and shares learning with peers and maintenance support crafts.
BSEE with 12 years experience in electronic equipment design.
12+ months — possible extension and possible FTE opportunity.
