Work location will be at Company's lab on University campus (Cal State University Long Beach)
Able to work collaboratively in research and development (lab) work environment with engineers and/or Suppliers in the areas of automation, robotics, and systems. Strong ability to quickly develop or lead prototypes activities, by designing, simulating, building, modifying, testing and integrating components to minimize risk and demonstrate concept feasibility and satisfy user requirements. Highly capable to integrate new technologies in existing products and designs as appropriate. Expertise with robot controllers, programming, and system integration required. Some travel to Washington State may be required. Integrates new automation and robotics technologies as appropriate. Works under general direction.
REQUIREMENTS:
Candidate needs to be proficient in programming Fanuc robots (Karel language), minimum 2 years recent experience. Also, experience with TPP language, TPP motion control features, vision systems (iRVision or other vision products) is desired. Some experience in implementing automation/robotics for manufacturing environments or manufacturing background (aerospace, automotive, etc) is needed.
B.S. Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or Computer engineering preferred.
6+ months — possible extension and possible FTE opportunity.
