Position Description: Flight Dispatcher/Weather Technical Specialist

This position will be a hybrid between a Lead Aircraft/Dispatcher position and a Meteorologist. The Company Global Data Center provides flight planning, communications, and cabin services for business jet pilots and flight departments. The Flight Data Specialist provides front line customer service for Global Data Center (GDC) subscribers. Services are provided to ground based and airborne customers, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, using various communication methods (email, telephone, fax, datalink and face-to-face). The Flight Data Specialist computes flight plan information, relays aviation weather, and time-critical aviation messages. This position will also require a degree in meteorology or atmospheric sciences.

I. Responsibilities:
A. Flight plan generation and filing via flight planning software
B. Datalink Message relaying (Uplink and Downlink)
C. Obtaining airport reservations
D. Providing customers software and web site support
E. Monitoring of computer systems and operating programs for problem resolution
F. Contributing ideas for service and product improvements
G. Perform well in unstructured situations, anticipate future issues, and respond quickly during a crisis
H. Able to communicate well both orally and in written form
I. Prioritize time and resources.
J. Handle multiple customer requests simultaneously and accurately.
K. Work in an unsupervised environment
L. Responsible for quality of service. Make adjustments as necessary during shift to maintain quality of service.
M. Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs).
N. Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, peers, managers and internal support staff
O. Participate in Process Improvement Teams
P. Various shift work required including days, evenings, graveyard, weekends, and holidays. Rotating shift work and overtime is REQUIRED
Q. Other duties as assigned
R. Voluntary travel for industry related conferences and seminars

II. Qualifications: A. AA Degree in Aviation Field (Bachelors preferred) B. 2+ Years experience in aviation environment C. FAA Certified Dispatchers Certificate or Pilots License D. Recent and relevant flight planning experience E. Must work effectively in a team-oriented and fast-paced environment F. Able to utilize a computer keyboard, telephone, and sit for extended periods of time G. Team player, flexible and open to change, and remaining calm working under pressure H. Demonstrated Customer Service experience REQUIRED I. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software J. Ability to solve problems
