Position Description: Sheetmetal Prototype Tech Sr

Position Purpose:
Under minimal supervision, fabricate and inspect sheetmetal detail parts and assemblies using blueprints and Company route cards to ensure work meets G.A.M.P.S. and government military specifications.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Functions
:1. Program, setup and proficiently operate conventional and CNC Router Equipment.
2. Manufacture and repair a wide range of complex detail parts, assemblys, and customer property from engineering drawings, blueprints and specifications. Layout flat patterns as required.
3. Design and manufacture shop aids for prototyping.
4. Safely operate and store area tools and equipment such as hydro press, heat treat, power brake and roller.
5. Drill and rout using N/C router, pin router, hand router and drill templates.
6. Perform major and minor assembly as required on Company aircraft.
7. Perform heat treat operations and maintains the Heat Treat Logs.
8. Set up and operate conventional Mill Machine to fabricate Hydro Blocks and various tools.

Additional Functions:
1. Access, analyze and interpret three dimensional electronic models.
2. Comply with Environmental, Health & Safety and 5S requirements.
3. Perform other duties as required.

Other Requirements:
1. Ability to lift over 40 lbs.
2. Able to read and interpret complicated blueprints, sketches, and tool designs.
3. Ability to read, write and speak the English language.
4. Able to work any shift.
5. Able to use a computer.
6. Able to apply shop mathematics including some trigonometry functions.
7. Proficient in operating all prototype shop equipment to include heat treating of materials.
8. Able to program and interpret CNC part programs using cad/cam software

High school diploma/GED

Six years of sheet-metal fabrication of detail parts and assemblies.

Unique Skills: Experience working on G650 structural assembly or repair similar to what is being done on F6 in the Structural Test Lab is critical to this position due to need to support F6 complete fatigue testing. Test Lab experience preferred.
