Overview

*** DIRECT HIRE / PERMANENT PLACEMENT OPPORTUNITY ***

The Quality Engineer is responsible for the development, maintenance and execution of Company's Quality System as embodied in the Quality System Manual. In addition, this position is responsible for Supplier Quality Assurance and Control.

- Establish & maintain DMIR status as assigned performing all the essential duties authorized by the FAA.
- Perform all essential duties of Supplier Quality Assurance and Control including training and support of suppliers so as to maintain their FAA approvals necessary to perform work on behalf of Company.
- Analyze contractual, product definition and specification requirements to ensure the suppliers and internal processes are meeting Quality standards and requirements.
- Compile and analyze performance reports and process control statistics to determine and improve process capability and product quality.
- Perform quarterly and annual audits for suppliers in accordance with our QMS and established industry practice. Perform internal audits assuring compliance with the QMS.
- Maintain Quality Records in accordance with the QMS.
- Represent the Quality Assurance Manager as assigned at the FAA, with Suppliers and Customers on matters relating to Quality.
- Perform assignments independently, meeting objectives without direct supervision.
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Must be able to travel (including internationally) for up to 25% of the time, mainly for the purpose of performing audits and supplier surveillance.

REQUIREMENTS:

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent writing skills, especially for procedures, audit reports, corrective action reports, and other formal documents.
- Formal and informal problem solving skills and techniques. Able to go beyond the written word to find solutions that meet both the intent and requirements of established practice and QMS.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience with AS9100 and industry best practices.
- Strong working knowledge of FAA part 21 PMA and STC processes.
- Knowledge of Quality Control practices and techniques including measurement techniques, statistical control, and receiving inspections methods.
- Ten years of related experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Be able to stand for up to 4 hours without a break.
- Must not possess a mental aversion to heights.
- Be able to lift 50 lbs.
