Position

Overview

Must be familiar with test instrumentation and airborne data systems.
• Job involves flight test instrumentation maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, installation and functional check of data system and data channels.
• Ability to read/develop schematics and wiring diagrams
• Ability to read/interpret/develop aircraft installation drawings.
• Knowledge of transducer & sensor selection to make hardware selections appropriate to measure physical phenomena.
• Develops simple or detailed test procedures and work instructions for instrumentation data systems.
• Assist in coordinating the manufacture and assembly of flight test hardware.
• Knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical design techniques as applied to aircraft installations.
• Knowledge of computer aided design tools: CATIA, Enovia, REDARS, VISIO, AutoCad, SolidWorks.
• Reviews test data, including off-nominal data for accuracy, quality and/or fidelity prior to delivery to customer.
• Alert senior engineers of instrumentation malfunctions and off-nominal data values.
• Publish, present and prepare test results.
• Archives data and reports.
• Coaches/Trains others.
• Works under general supervision or direction.
Job location is either in Seattle or in Everett, with temporary assignments to Renton facility, and remote base locations during testing. Job involves shift work, weekend and overtime during test program execution. Candidate must be willing to work at alternate locations as needed. Job involves working in an aircraft production environment, flight line or on-aircraft environment, as well as office environment. Highly experienced and medium experienced flight test engineers are encouraged to apply. Looking for levels 2-5.

BS in engineering or sciences and typically 3 or more years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Programs: Commercial, Tanker, Maritime and Military Derivatives.

REQUIREMENTS:

12+ months — possible extension and possible FTE opportunity.
