Position

Overview

1) Generate tool orders in response to customer needs and requirements.
2) Assist in the development and completion of large scale Tooling Projects for the Tooling MBU.
3) Assume a leadership role within the Tooling MBU on business and manufacturing tasks as required.
4) Evaluate and monitor Tooling related issues on a daily basis as instructed by Tooling Management.
5) Responsible for the proper storage, maintenance and repair of ground support tooling and ground support equipment.
6) Coordinate activities with GSE Technicians, as needed.
7) May act as Team Leader as required, assigning work tasks, maintaining work load schedules, and setting priorities to ensure timely completion of department goals and corporate objectives.

Additional Functions:
1) Support and enforce Company Aerospace rules and policies.
2) Act as liaison for Tooling, Production, and Engineering as required.

Other Requirements:
1) Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
2) Demonstrated knowledge of all Tooling applications, to include, but not limited to GSE, GST, jig, fixture and composites along with uses, and methods.
3) Advanced ability to read and interpret complex Engineering and Tool Design drawings.
4) Skilled in the use of Personal Computers and their applications to include MS Word and MS Excel.
5) Must have a proven record of consistently meeting objectives.

Unique Skills:
CATIA V5, SMARTEAM, Major Assembly Manufacturing Knowlege. Corrective Action fixture resolution. See Experience/Education Requirements.

Experience/Education:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, a related curriculum, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.Six (6) years Tooling experience to include three (3) years Tool Planning, Tool Design, NC Programming, or related experience.

REQUIREMENTS:

12+ months — possible extension and possible FTE opportunity.
