Database Administrator

JOB DUTIES: Requires working knowledge of Oracle database technologies and prior direct experience as a database administrator, specifically in-depth Oracle experience with versions 10g and 11g. Robust in-depth knowledge of UNIX operating systems, networking, and security is a must. Must have strong written and oral communication skills. Must have the ability to draft complex documents using technical language required by the job. Requires the ability to use applicable computing disciplines (change, problem, performance, and operational management; etc.) to ensure that customer database requirements are met in a cost-effective manner that complies with company and regulatory requirements. Must have strong customer service skills, ability to use tact and diplomacy, and to work effectively within a team. Position requires carrying a cell phone, off-hours support of 7X24 environments and participation in an off-hour/weekend duty rotation and may require frequent response to off-hour high priority or emergency calls.

JOB SKILLS: Recent experience with Oracle layered on the AIX, Linux or the HP-UX operating system large scale systems as well as recent experience with Oracle feature components for RAC, Streams/Goldengate, Oracle DataGuard including advance replication and experience with HACMP/SRDF, HP ServiceGuard. In-depth knowledge of relational data translation to Data warehouse sources, In-depth performance tuning of Oracle RDBMS on AIX and HP-UX systems, strong experience with Oracle tunables, Oracle performance analysis using OEM Grid Control. Ability to read, assess, author and troubleshoot both ANSI and PL/SQL scripts.
